We have the pleasure to publish the selected applicants of Balkan’s Gate 2020.
Balkan’s Gate had 217 applications this year, of which 5 will be part of the project.e

CONNOR GREIG (Canada)
Synopsis:
A man on the last straw of his production company in the small city of Fier, attempts to attract all of his ex-girlfriends to do a contested reality TV show- but he never told any of them that they’ll see the other 4 waiting for them the first day! A funny sitcom comedy Proof of Concept displaying all exotic characters and the beauty of the country Albania.r sweetener in many cultures.
MARTIN HEINZE (Germany)
Synopsis:
With the death of his father, 17-year-old Meriton is faced with the question of whether to stay with his widowed mother or follow his studies and move out of the city. Faced with the indifference of his older brothers, Meriton must take the most complicated step, to make a decision he doesn’t want to make.
THEA MARTI (Italy)
Synopsis:
A dark skinned boy, ignored by peers, feels frustrated and lonely. Only the wisdom of the balloon seller will help the child to overcome his fears.
HYEJIN KIM (South Korea)
Synopsis:
The subject that I want to treat is the pollution nearby patos-marinza Oil field. Based on my research, it is one of the oldest and the biggestOil fields in europe(made in 1920s) but the environmental damages from the development has never been properly recovered (neither by The government nor by the oil plant company) and the residents Nearby are still suffered a lot not only from the pollution of the water, the soil and the water, but also from the serious poverty so that Means they have had almost no benefits from the development, but just the harms. I want to make a short fiction film about this subject, which is the story of a young woman living in the small village nearby the oil field and suffered from the physical symptoms caused by the pollution.
NILS BOUVYER (France)
Synopsis:
The will to exile in another country for young pe in Albania seems to have been very strong and be still something actual. It is a subject that I find very interesting. I want while making this movie to learn more about this fact, about how the young Albanian people think about this, and how it would be the last day of a teenager who wants to migrate to another country.
